CONDOLENCES

ANDREW SAIDI  — White Eagle Books

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Andrew Saidi, one of our long standing exhibitors, a veteran exhibitor at both the Bloomsbury Book Fair, and Bloomsbury Ephemera Fair and regular at many PBFA fairs. He will be deeply missed by the book trade and all exhibitors and visitors to the fair. Our sincere condolences to his family. His wife Lidia has written the following:

Andrew had been unwell since the beginning of the year and it transpired that he had stage 4 lung cancer by the time he was diagnosed in early April. We tried treatment but unfortunately he did not respond to it.

His funeral is on Tuesday 21st October at 12pm at Mortlake Crematorium, London.

Afterwards there will be refreshments at the restaurant Lowiczanka on the first floor at the Polish Social and Cultural Centre on 238-246 King Street, Hammersmith, W6 ORF

There is Pay and Display on street parking in side streets opposite the Polish Centre. Parking on Beavor Lane or Ravenscourt Park are the most recommended options. The best form of transport is by tube. The nearest tube to the crematorium is Kew Gardens. Then only four stops from there on the District line to Ravenscourt Park, which is just around the corner from the Polish Centre.

I hope as many of Andrew’s friends and colleagues from the book world, that he so loved, will be able to attend.

DAVID VINE

We have also been informed of the passing of David Vine, who hasn’t exhibited for a few years but was a very regular Exhibitor at the Bloomsbury Book Fair and Ephemera Fair up until Covid. Our condolences to his family and friends.
