CHRISTMAS BOOK BUYING

Our Christmas Book Fair on Sunday 14th of December is indubitably every book-collector’s highlight of the month[!], at least for those who are able to make it in London. However, if you are looking for further options to find the ideal book gift prior to Christmas don’t forget our upcoming Bloomsbury Christmas Ephemera Fair on the 21st of December, which alongside rare, collectable and secondhand books also proffers a range of works on paper and other ephemeral pieces at a wide variety of prices, for all pockets.

Other options available to the keen bibliophile include Bloomsbury Auctions’ Printed Books and Manuscripts sale on the 17th of December, which includes the working library of gardening books and more of Rosemary Verey. Dominic Winter have two auctions in the same week, Printed Books and Maps on the 17th and Children’s & Illustrated Books and Modern First Editions on the 18th.

Another potentially interesting opportunity is that presented by relative new-comers to the auctioning of rare and collectable books, The Auction Room. Currently working out of a Mayfair penthouse office, this company provides an online-only auction platform across an ever-growing range of collectable areas, most recently including books, and their second book auction becomes a “live” online auction on Friday the 18th at 2pm. The sale offers 100 lots of antiquarian books, subjects including early English and Continental printing, Children’s books, Private Press, Engineering, Natural History, Travel and Topography.

The next Bloomsbury Book Fair is on the 11th of January, we look forward to seeing you then!
