SUMMER FAIR REVIEWS

The Bloomsbury Summer Book Fair took place on May 18^th and kicked off a whole week of fairs as part of Summer Fairs Week. The Summer Fair always sees new faces from UK, Europe and further afield and this year was no exception. The Galleon Suite and Ellis Suites were full, and after a busy morning getting all exhibitors set-up the doors opened to the public at 10am to an enormous rush of visitors eager to explore the vast array of material on offer. Feedback from exhibitors was favourable, with many reporting excellent sales and some good contacts made. One exhibitor likened the fair to the stock exchange ‘whatever your entry level, there is something for everyone!’ which is indeed the case, there are items available for thousands, but also bargains to be had for a few pounds for those willing to search them out! The week ended with the Bloomsbury Summer Book & Ephemera Fair on May 25^th, a fair which has seen massive growth this year, the summer fair saw over 70 dealers, with a real diversity of material on offer from books, ephemera, maps, posters, prints, and a growing number of postcards dealers. This fair was extremely busy, which considering it was at the end of a whole week of fairs was very encouraging. The organisers would like to take this opportunity to thank all their exhibitors and visitors for their continued support, not just for these summer fairs but every month, and look forward to yet another year of exhibiting!
