A complete set of the Society for Photographing Relics of Old London series of carbon printed 
photographs issued between 1875 and 1876. It comprises 120 high quality 
photographs, with accompanying text by Alfred Marks, contained in two very large portfolios.
This huge set of magnificent photographs is rarely seen complete due to its protracted publishing history. It attempted to record vanishing Victorian London before developers changed 
many of the familiar streets. By fortunate coincidence it also recorded for 
posterity many buildings which were lost during the Blitz.
